Recruiter Spotlight

We like to surround ourselves with good people at Capio! This week, we will meet George, our Managing Consultant who oversees the conveyancing desk! Keep an eye on our teams as we get to know them!

How long have you worked at Capio and what is your role there

Conveyancing is my area of expertise as a Managing Consultant. While I have only been at Capio for a month, I have been working in legal recruitment for over 3.5 years.

What is your favorite aspect of being a recruiter?

My favorite aspect of being a recruiter is dealing with different people day by day, building new relationships, and having a positive impact on someone’s professional and personal life. I enjoy being the person that takes the weight of job hunting off the candidate’s shoulder and makes a stressful process easy.

What motivates you in your work and day-to-day life?

I am very competitive. It is important to me to work towards goals, stay productive, hit targets, and provide clients or candidates with the best service possible. We all love a bit of healthy competition!

Is there any advice you would give to people looking for a role in conveyancing?

Take some time to clearly identify your motivators and what you want to get from your next role as this will make the process a lot smoother from the start.

What do you think is key for a successful recruiting process?

I believe in transparency, honesty, and trust between me and my clients and candidates.

Why do you enjoy working at Capio

From the beginning, I was instantly attracted to the friendly culture and the ambition Capio has as a startup that is continuously growing. Capio has a very solid foundation and a bright future, and I can’t wait to keep growing with the company.

Take me through the steps you take to find top talent?

Throughout my years of recruitment, I have been able to build a number of contacts in the market, and utilizing these good relationships to find strong and relevant candidates is a great help. It’s important I know my clients and the details of the role so I can match up suitable candidates and they feel confident in the opportunities I am presenting.

What is the most challenging aspect of being a recruiter?

The market can be incredibly fast-paced and there are a lot of external factors out of my control that can affect the progression of the recruitment process.

How do you balance work and personal life?

I am always trying to stick to a routine, follow my schedule because it helps to stay productive and focused. Great to have external passions to keep me active and away from the stresses of recruitment.

What are your passions and interests outside of work?

I am an extremely active person but generally, you will find me on the rugby pitch playing or coaching young players to develop both on and off the pitch. You can also find me on the beach or in the woods for long walks with my two mental cocker spaniels.

Tell me one goal you want to hit in 2022?

One thing I would love to do in 2022 is to tour the Highlands of Scotland.

As a child, what were you like?

I was very loud, overly excited, always happy, and active hence why I am so active now as an adult too 😊.

Name one movie and one musician you really like

Among my favorite movies and musicians right now, Saving Private Ryan for the movie and Kygo, one of my favorite DJs, come to mind.
